Dear reader I’d like to take the opportunity to talk to you about Stephen West of SJ West Heating & Plumbing. I know Steve because we both work together as part of a word of mouth marketing company called BNI. Our second-floor shower died. No amount of glaring at it fixed it. So my wife asked “Do you have a plumber”? The answer was of course, yes. Steve arrived on the day and as he entered the house took his shoes off. That was the first sign of his thoughtful attitude towards us as customers. We talked through the options and he even moved the shower from one wall to the other. He was tidy and made good the resulting holes. He even spared the time to check a kitchen sink trap and confirmed that a screw had disappeared. It was good to know that my previous attempt to reattach it with Blutak would never have worked! I’d like to thank Steve for doing a five-star job. I know Steve and never had any doubts. He’s a genuinely lovely chap and a knowledgeable craftsman. I have no hesitation in recommending him.

I asked Steve West to install a gas hob for me, and after a visit learnt I needed to have a gas line installed into my kitchen to allow for the hob. Steve was able to complete this work all within one day despite the fact it seemed to be a large job. He did so at a very reasonable price, especially given how many hours he was working for. Steve proved to be trustworthy, meaning my partner and I were able to leave him to carry out the work while we worked in our study. Steve completed the work to a high standard, and to top it off he insisted on cleaning up after himself. Anyone who knows me is aware of how proud I am of keeping my house clean and tidy, and it was hard to allow another to clean up - but Steve saw it as part of finishing the job. For his high standards, reliability and trustworthiness I would highly recommend Steve West for your plumbing needs.

A confession. I unblocked the sink and in my over enthusiastic efforts did some damage to the ubend The consequence was one of those annoying drips that runs down behind the unit After procrastinating over what to do I did the sensible thing and I phoned SJ West Heating & Plumbing. Steve came over exactly when he said he would and replaced a little bit of perished plastic ring. Job done no fuss, no bother just straight honest knowledge and experience. If you have a plumbing issue just call Steve. No point in going anywhere else.

Steven of SJ West Heating and Plumbing provides a great service. As well as being efficient and well qualified, he is prompt and reliable. He clarifies what is needed (and even tries to save you money by helping you over the phone rather than making an unnecessary visit). His prices are very reasonable and his work is exceptional. He is polite and kind. In these days of coronavirus, he takes all necessary precautions as a matter of course. We were very impressed with his work and with him. I recommend Steven to anyone who needs a plumber. Because of his trustworthiness and consideration, I would have no hesitation in suggesting him to vulnerable clients as he would look after them as well as their plumbing and heating.

Steve came out initially to service my central heating boiler but we were so happy that we had him back to replace a radiator for us. We've had some not great experiences with plumbers in the past so it is fantastic to find one whose knowledge is as broad as Steve's seems to be. He was on time (!!), he worked really tidily, cleaned up after himself, was extremely thorough & drained the whole system out to make sure that when the radiator was replaced it worked as efficiently as possible. He was sociable and explained things brilliantly to my husband so that he could understand what was needed and how to maintain things going forward. I can't tell you how much we appreciated that. His advice about my mother's solid fuel boiler was really helpful as well and although he is a gas safe engineer not a solid fuel engineer he pitched in, looked at grants for her and recommended someone who could help with her weird boiler needs. The fact that his knowledge is so broad and his attitude is so positive, means that I have no hesitation in recommending his services to my clients and that is not something I do lightly. Services I’d like to take the time to say thank you so much to Steven for coming to the rescue and giving us peace of mind. I noticed there was something not quite right about our bathroom floor – upon closer investigation I noticed that there was quite some puddle under the washing basket. Straight away I was filled with dread – realising that we actually had a water leak from the bathroom sink not only that it had also made its way into our kitchen ceiling (freshly painted that weekend by my partner). I called Steven and explained the situation – I must admit I was panicked a little as I knew we didn’t have isolators on the taps so I couldn’t stop the leak. Steven was brilliant he said that he was doing a job but he would call over as soon as he was finished. And he did just that – he was over an hours drive away but Steven still took on the job to stop the leak. Steven had to come back to fit a new tap and isolators. We live some distance from Steven yet he still took the time to make sure we were OK. Steven I want to say thank you so much it really meant a lot to us that you acted so quickly and calmly. Gave us complete peace of mind and reassurance. Plumbers don’t have a reputation for this normally but I can’t believe how tidy you were too. I highly recommend Steven if you are looking for a reliable, respectful, professional plumber.
